How to become a Christian
How To Find Free Christian Sheet Music

1.
Make full use of search engines. Here is a list of some good phrases to narrow your search:  free gospel music, free black gospel music, free praise and worship music, free church music, free choral music.  To save time, use quotations marks.  For example, for a Yahoo search put “free sheet music” in the search box.

2.
Visit secular websites too. You’ll be surprised how many hymns and traditional songs are on secular sites.

3.
Choose sites that appear to be the most professional and complex. If a company or ministry cares enough to build a great website to share free music, hopefully they will protect the site from viruses.

4.
Be prepared to download free software by knowing how much free space is on your computer. For example, Scortch software allows users to see sheet music in its original key and then transpose it to a new key automatically.  It even allows you to hear the composition in the new key.  Some sites will allow you to hear the selection in all 12 keys if you prefer.

5.
Be prepared to use Adobe Reader to download .pdf files. If you don’t have Adobe Reader, you can download it free at www.adobe.com or http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.

6.
Make sure your Anti-virus definitions are up to date. Viruses not only can be spread by downloading files, but also by clicking on a link.

7.
Make sure your speakers are working. You’ll find a lot of websites with original sheet music and will let you listen to the selection before you download it.

8.
Be prepared to register with the website.  After all, the music is free.

9.
Request to be on their regular email list. Many times, the company will send an email when new music is available.
